What a weekend we had at the Cape Town Motor Show. Wildebeest Extreme 4×4 Challenge Club held their first event of the year at Grandwest as part of the Cape Town Motor Show. A special track was build for the event. This was so successful that this will be an annual event so you will be able to Team Gobi X at the Cape Town Motor Show next year.
For the new year we have a new team, different vehicle which we have given a whole new look. We are please to introduce our 2018 team of David Ayres (Driver) and Rob Duane (Co’ Driver) they are competing is a Jeep TJ. Both David & Rob are no strangers to extreme 4×4 having competed together as a team for the last 7 years and traveled across the country to compete in the sport.
Team Gobi X scored a very credible second place at the Grandwest event on a very challenging course which saw many vehicles retire due to breakages. David commented ‘Being part of the Gobi X team brings a different dimension to us competing. The guys have been great with their support both leading up to the event and on the day. Gobi X have guys on hand to meet the public and promote their products’
Rob went on to add ‘This event really adds to the Wildebeest calendar with thousands of people attending the Cape Town Motor Show it makes sense to add an extreme 4×4 event to the mix.
